After a long career in law enforcement, Randy Brown made the move to the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch in the compliance and enforcement division. Over a decade, Randy worked his way up in the Liquor & Cannabis Regulation Branch to become the first Provincial Manager for the liquor manufacturing industry in Canada. Randy's passion for the hospitality and manufacturing sector, focused on the big picture, spurred him to be one of the LCRB's resident subject matter experts on the Liquor Manufacturing sector. Randy has successfully assisted industry in navigating a dynamic and ever-changing liquor regulatory regime. His contribution to the industry resulted in being awarded the 2019 Minister's award for collaboration. His expertise and field work have contributed to a number of LCRB policies in place today and his knowledge is unequalled.
Randy's goal and work philosophy has always been to create meaningful partnerships with manufacturers, industry associations and his past fellow regulator agencies in government. He is known for being a collaborator, a business consultant and that most unique combination of 'entrepreneur and regulatory expert.' He has an unwavering focus on client-service and finds creative solutions to difficult challenges! Randy believes that it's not about an adversarial approach toward regulators, but instead a collaborative and forward-thinking one! Creativity is key!
Randy has spoken at wine & law conferences at home and abroad and is a member of the International Wine & Law Society.
Randy works with a group of experts in various areas of the liquor manufacturing and licensing space, and will work with you to find the right solutions for your business.
Traveling the world has given Randy a unique perspective on regulation in many areas, not to mention some amazing sips! When 'off duty', Randy can usually be found hiking, boating, traveling or volunteering his time with a local Search and Rescue team.
